Steward receives Alumni Distinguished Teaching award
Dr. Deborah Steward, associate professor in the College of Nursing, has been named a recipient of the 2012 Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. The prestigious award honors superior teaching by Ohio State faculty. A surprise presentation was made by Michael Boehm, university vice provost, and Archie Griffin, president and CEO of the Ohio State Alumni Association. Steward has been a faculty member at Ohio State since 1999.
College of Nursing researcher develops tool to help reduce C-sections
Assistant Professor Jeremy Neal has co-developed a partograph tool to track pregnant women's labor in the effort to prevent unnecessary cesarean sections on first-time mothers. Read complete story.

Melnyk appointed to National Behavioral Health Committee
The National Quality Forum announced that Bernadette Melnyk, PhD, RN, CPNP/PMHNP, FNAP, FAAN, dean of the College of Nursing, associate vice president for health promotion, and chief wellness officer, has been officially appointed to its Behavioral Health Steering Committee. (more)
