The Pre-Nursing option at The Ohio State University is an option for students who have an interest in pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Pre-Nursing students take prerequisites for the BSN degree and prepare to apply to the major.
Pre-Nursing students are assigned an academic advisor who provides information regarding the nursing program, application process, and university policies and regulations. Students are encouraged to contact an academic advisor to discuss study skill strategies, course planning, and academic issues.
Academic Advisors
The College of Nursing’s academic advising staff consists of Jennie Cisar Lawrence, Nicole Fette, and Meredith Willsen. In addition to academic advising, each staff member works with a particular area or student population including career services, social and education programming, study abroad, and student athletes.
Jennie Cisar Lawrence, cisar-lawrence.1@osu.edu. Jennie counsels Pre-Nursing students with the last name beginning with the letter L-Z. She teaches Nursing 100 and also serves as a career advisor for the College of Nursing. She helps students with all pieces of the career development process, including resumes/cover letters, interviewing skills, salary negotiation, gaining professional experience, and searching for employment. Jennie graduated from Miami University with an MS in College Student Personnel.
Nicole Fette, fette.9@osu.edu. Nicole advises Pre-Nursing students with the last name beginning with the letter A-K. She also advises student athletes, Pre-Nursing honors students, and coordinates the study abroad programs offered by the College of Nursing. Additionally, Nicole plans social and educational programs for the students in the College of Nursing. Nicole graduated from Kent State University with an MEd in Higher Education and College Student Personnel.
Meredith Willsen, willsen.1@osu.edu.
Meredith is the graduate associate in the Office of Student Affairs. As
the graduate associate, she advises students regarding course work,
study skills, and the scheduling of classes. Meredith is a graduate
student in Ohio State's Higher Education and Student Affairs program.
