
You are welcome to visit the College of Nursing at The Ohio State University and learn more about our undergraduate or graduate programs. Depending on your program of interest, you could attend an overview session or an open house.
Undergraduate program options
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): Open house for high school students
Geared towards high school students or newly admitted freshmen, this program offers a variety of sessions to increase your knowledge about the nursing profession and the BSN curriculum:
• Academic overview: Information about admission requirements to the major, prerequisite courses, freshman year course planning and advisor recommendations for ways to enhance an application to the major.
• Faculty presentation: A faculty member will discuss the nursing profession, what faculty look for in a freshman applicant and answer questions about course load and clinical requirements.
• Technology Learning Complex (TLC) tour: TLC staff members show participants how they will learn about nursing first-hand from human patient simulators and life-like computerized scenarios.
• Nursing skills: An interactive session where participants view a demonstration and then practice nursing skills. A current nursing student is available during this session to answer questions about what it is like to learn at the College of Nursing.
• Student life presentation: During this session, students will learn about co-curricular opportunities in the College of Nursing, including student groups, organizations and study abroad opportunities.

BSN: Open house for college and transfer students
This program is specifically designed for students already attending, or who have attended previously, a college or university and who are considering transferring to Ohio State. There will be in-depth discussion of the following topics:
• Admission requirements and procedures for the nursing major
• Description of the nursing major and general education curriculum
• Prerequisite courses required to apply
• Recommendations for future course scheduling

BSN: Information session for current Ohio State students
Current Ohio State students who would like additional information about the nursing major and/or wish to switch enrollment can do so by attending these sessions. Advance registration for these sessions is not necessary.
